Holiday Farm in Salento

| Masseria in Cisternino in the Murgia of Trulli

Easily recognizable thanks to its white-painted houses, its narrow alleys and the wonderful seascapes, Ostuni sits on three hills and it has an old city center clustered atop high ground facing a valley lined with olive trees. The coastline, which stretches over as many as 20 kilometers (12.4 miles), presents dreamlike sunsets and fascinating beaches. Apulia's clear sea, which has often received the Blue Flag and Legambiente's Five Sails (Cinque Vele) designations for its cleanliness, is only 6 kilometers (3.73 miles) away. After dark, Ostuni turns into a small village all lit up to reveal its picturesque and romantic side.
The Valle D’Itria
The Valle D’Itria (the center of the world!) is a widespread hill patterned by gentle karst latches, as karst is the area of which it constitutes the heart: the Murgia dei Trulli. Its toponym derives from the byzantine orient, in remembrance of our Lady of Odegitria, the one who shows the way. There came many visitors to whom show “the right way”, in this land at the Mediterranean sea, millennial place of encounters and collisions between peoples of different and distant origins.
A lively and multi-colored landscape, in which three colors emerge: green like the thriving nature, oak plantations, olive tree groves, vineyards; white like the milk of lime, which coat after coat paints in white the Trulli, the manor farms and the ancient hamlets; finally red like the color of bolus, the characteristic ground which, for its properties, while covering the soil with a thin layer allows a blooming nature.
The reserve of Torre Guaceto and the park of the Dune Costiere
One is national reserve, the other regional park, but both are places of protection and conservation of an inestimable natural and cultural patrimony and characterised by the presence of Mediterranean scrub, avifauna and humid zones. Diverse are the possible activities to contemplate and assimilate the beauty, the rarity and the ecological importance of the places.

Il Frantoio, manor farm with charm, is the ideal starting point for a tour of the villages os the Valle d’Itria (the center of the world!): Ostuni the white city, Cisternino and his ready cookers, Locorotondo and the cummerse, Martina Franca and the baroque architecture, Alberobello and the Trulli! The kids, but not only they, will be amazed plunging into the enchanted atmosphere of the grottos of Castellana. The lovers of nature will be able to enjoy the Parco delle Dune Costiere and the Riserva Nazionale di Torre Guaceto.

Polignano a Mare, the city between heaven and sea will fascinate you with its panoramic terraces, the caves carved by the sea and the alleys where you can find the best fish-restaurants of the region.

Masseria Il FrantoioLecce, sublime temple of baroque architecture, cannot be missing on your discovery of the wonders of Puglia. They call it “Florence of the baroque” and it is a city to be discovered, contemplating its palaces and the extraordinary monuments, embellished by the specially treated stone and papier-mache, transformed into extraordinary decorations by skilled artisans.

Otranto is the easternmost city in Italy, and it will not fail to astonish you with its superb Aragonese castle and with its Apulian Roman-Gothic style cathedral, a true jewel of late 15th-century architecture, embellished by a very old mosaic floor, extraordinarily brightened by the light that shines through the rose window of the façade. This town offers the opportunity to go for a stroll down romantic roads and along the ramparts of the castle. A charming place!

Masseria Il FrantoioOnce you are in the Salento region, you should not miss the opportunity to see Gallipoli, known as the Pearl of the Ionian Sea! This old village will win you over with its old city center, located on a small island dominated by the majestic Cathedral of Saint Agatha and by the unfailing Angioini family castle. While here, take a relaxing walk along the alleys overlooking the sea or enjoy the beach to swim in the waves of a truly sensational sea!

Moreover, the Masseria Il Frantoio is only 30 minutes distant from the airport of Brindisi and about an hour from the one of Bari.
